Authorship & CRediT

Authorship should accurately reflect substantive contributions to the work and the responsibilities associated with publication.

Authorship

All listed authors should have made a meaningful contribution to the work and should accept responsibility for the aspects of the study with which they were involved.

Author order

Authors are responsible for agreeing the authorship list and author order before submission and for communicating any proposed changes to the editorial office.

Contributor roles

Physical Activity Review supports transparent description of contributor roles using the CRediT taxonomy where appropriate.

Changes in authorship

Requests to add, remove or reorder authors after submission must be explained and may require confirmation from all affected contributors.

Acknowledgements

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately where relevant.
