Peer Review & Editorial Process

Peer Review Policy

Peer review is a central component of editorial assessment at Physical Activity Review and is intended to support rigorous, fair and constructive evaluation of scholarly work.

Editorial screening

Submissions may undergo an initial editorial assessment for scope, basic quality, completeness and compliance with journal requirements before external review.

Independent review

Manuscripts selected for peer review are evaluated by suitably qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.

Editorial decision

Reviewer recommendations inform the editorial decision but do not determine it automatically. Final responsibility for acceptance, revision or rejection rests with the journal's editors.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts under review and information relating to the review process should be treated as confidential.

Conflicts

Editors and reviewers should disclose circumstances that could compromise independent judgment.
